Documentation
Definition
Location at which the deliveries are processed. This can be a physical location (for example a warehouse or a group of loading ramps) or a logical grouping (for example, a group of people that is responsible for shipping activities).
Use
You can define shipping points in the system beforehand and for different combinations of:
The shipping point is the most important criterion for selecting deliveries in delivery processing. A delivery can only be transported from a shipping point. You can specify the shipping point more precisely by specifying a loading point (for example, a certain loading ramp).
Example
If, for example, you want to send frozen goods to a customer by rail, the system proposes a shipping point which has a track connection and the necessary equipment for loading frozen goods onto railroad cars.
Procedure
The system can propose a shipping point. If there are predefined alternative entries in your system, you can change the shipping point manually.
