Definition
The total volume of all items in a sales document that remain to be delivered.
Use
The system stores the total open volume for a sales document in the shipping index. If you deliver part of the sales order, the system reduces the total volume in the index accordingly. The volume is an important criteria during delivery processing for determining how much can be delivered by a particular shipping point on a particular day.
