Description

These key figures give an overview of the age structures of saved information.

Use of the key figure for analysis purposes

These can be used to recognize load cycles as well as archiving or clean-up potential.

Structure and use of detail displays

This detail display shows the frequency with which documents occur in an age class.

Retroactive accounting begins at the time of the last sample.

Example:

Selected evaluation time (Scope of sample):

from 1st April 1996 to 13th November 1996

Interpretation:

20,000 objects, that are 1 week old,

30,000 objects, that are 2 weeks old,

34,000 objects, that are between 15 and 20 weeks old,

98,500 objects, that are older than 6 months,

always calculated retroactively beginning on the 13.11.1996.

Notes for optimization

Historical data that is no longer needed very often can lead to higher runtimes for important operating functions such as evaluations or transactions, if used in high volumes. Due to its negative effect on installations, data that is no longer needed on a daily basis should be regularly removed.

In order that you have the most important historical information available in compressed form, SAP's Information Warehouse or the Logistics Information System is offered as a storage memory. Conserving original documents, if necessary, should be carried out exclusively using the archiving procedure and the relevant mass storage media.
