Documentation
Definition
Number of the master contract to which the contract refers. Several contracts can be grouped under a master contract to ensure that certain data is consistent in all the lower level contracts. You define which data is to be kept consistent in referencing procedures in Customizing.
Procedure
Enter the number of a master contract in this field to create the reference. You can search for a suitable master contract using a matchcode. Matchcode E enables you to search by partner.
If the messages for master contracts function has been activated in Customizing, the system informs you during contract creation if master contracts for the sold-to party exist. You can branch to a list of the existing master contracts and select an appropriate one to assign your contract to.
Be aware that contracts can only be assigned to master contracts on one level. No further hierarchical structures are possible.
