Use
For the system to be able to determine the taxes on sales/purchase group depending on the period, you need to specify for each company code the document date with which the system determines the taxes on sales/purchase group.
- Using the posting date,
- Using the document date or
- Using the tax reporting date,
If, however, you do not want to make a time-dependent assignment, choose the option No Time-Dependent Assignment.

Example
Document: Company code 0001 with posting date 08/05/2011 and document date 07/20/2011.
You have defined the following time-dependent assignments between company codes and taxes on sales/purchases groups:
BUKRS From Date Sales/Purchases Tax Group
0001 01/01/2011 UM01
0001 08/01/2011 UM08
The system determines different taxes on sales/purchases groups depending on whether you have selected the document date or the posting date as the decisive date:
Receipt Date -> Sales/Purchases Tax Group = UM01
Posting Date -> Sales/Purchases Tax Group = UM08
