The business area is an organizational unit that can be created for balance sheets and profit and loss statements for the purposes of internal reporting.
In contrast to the company code, the business area does not have a separate legally independent unit. Therefore, the business area is not subject to the legal requirements that are relevant for external reporting in accounting.
