Definition

Costs are always collected by one "real" cost object. In addition, the same costs can also be collected in parallel by "statistical" cost objects. For example, a cost amount can be added to a cost center that tracks "real" cost, and at the same time to a WBS element that tracks cost statistically.

For tax audits you may need to retain both real and statistical cost items, or only real cost items. This needs to be decided by your tax department. Retaining only real cost items may reduce the number of retained cost items significantly, thus saving time and storage space.
