Definition
Alternative language-independent technical name that you specify for each location in addition to the technical ID (key). Only the text for the alias appears on the display (e.g. input help) and not the technical ID.
Use
You can change the alias subsequently. It is not part of the key for tables. Foreign key relationships to the alias fields are used to form relationships between objects (e.g. time is related to the location).
