Definition

If an external tax system is used, that system determines a tax jurisdiction code or checks its validity during address data maintenance for an American or for a Canadian address (customer, vendor, plant and so on).

• If this customizing flag is NOT set:
• If the tax jurisdiction code field is empty, the SAP system will attempt to determine a tax jurisdiction code.
• If the tax jurisdiction code field contains a value, the SAP system checks this tax jurisdiction code against the respective address.
• If this tax jurisdiction code is invalid, an error message is output.
• If this customizing flag is set:
• If the tax jurisdiction code field is empty, the SAP system will attempt to determine a tax jurisdiction code.
• If the tax jurisdiction code field contains a value, the SAP system checks this tax jurisdiction code against the respective address.
• If this check fails, the tax jurisdiction code for the respective address will be determined.
