Documentation
Definition
Number of calendar days (with 2 decimal places) required for organizing a shipment for an item that is to be delivered via a certain route.
Depending on the shipping point, the system uses the transportation lead time either in calendar days or in hours/minutes (if the working hours have been maintained in the referring shipping point).
If the factory calendar of the referring shipping point has been maintained, the system calculates in workdays. Otherwise, it calculates in calendar days. From the shipping/ transportation scheduling point of view, a day has 24 hours (in contrast to the transportation lead time in hours/minutes for which the actual working hours are taken into account).
The transportation lead time in hours/minutes and calendar days is not added. The maximum value range that is supported amounts to 9999999 hours.
In general, a route can be referred by several shipping points. Therefore, we recommend that you always maintain the transportation lead time both in calendar days and hours/minutes.
Use
The system uses the transportation lead time to calculate the transportation planning date. On the basis of this date as well as other time estimates (for example, the time needed for delivering the goods), the system determines the dates by which the goods must be available for picking, packing and loading.
