Documentation
Definition
Identifies the transportation service agent (vendor).
Use
On the shipment header level, you can specify the service agent either directly by manually entering the description or indirectly by indicating a route.
On the shipment stage level, this service agent will be automatically copied into all shipment stages if the service agent of these stages is blank or identical with the old service agent in the shipment header.
The same is true if you create stages manually, adopt stages from the route, or execute leg determination.
Procedure
Enter the number of the service agent or search for the appropriate one using a matchcode. To do this, select the possible entries pushbutton and enter your selection criteria.
When you set the status to 'planned', the forwarding agent is copied as the service agent from the corresponding deliveries into the shipment header, and thus also into the shipment stages (see above), provided the forwarding agent is identical in all the deliveries and the forwarding agent has not been specified before.
Examples
The forwarding agent in the shipment header can therefore be specified in a number of ways (options listed in descending order with regard to priority):
- You can enter it manually.
- You can enter it indirectly by specifying a route.
- You can copy it from the deliveries (if it is unique and if the corresponding Customizing settings have been made).
- You can adopt it from the route that has been copied from the deliveries into the shipment header.
