Definition
The accrual/deferral method defines the details for calculating the accrual/deferral amount in connection with the accrual/deferral procedure.
The following accrual/deferral methods exist:
- Pro rata temporis:
The amount is accrued/deferred on a linear basis over the calculation period.
- Pro rata temporis with linear discounting:
The amount is accrued/deferred on linear basis over the calculation period and then discounted on a linear basis. This method is used for Commercial Paper, for example.
