Documentation
Definition
The repo category indicates whether the repurchase agreement is with or without collateral transfer.
For repos with collateral transfer the securities position is actually posted from the lenders security account to the borrowers security account. The interest made on the securities position during the repo term is accrued to the borrower. At the end of the term, the securities position is transferred back to the lender.
In the case of a repo without collateral transfer, the securities position is not transferred to the borrowers security account. In this case, the interest made on the securities position during the repo term is accrued to the lender.
