Definition

Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication

The SWIFT code is the unique worldwide bank ID.

Use

SWIFT codes are used to identify banks in international payment transactions.

Outgoing confirmations:
This field is filled with the SWIFT code defined for the business partner (see "Bank ID" under business partner control data).

Incoming confirmations (IDoc):
This field is used for assigning an incoming confirmation to a company code in the receiving system.
Customers can either use a BAdI to assign the confirmation (see customizing correspondence) or match the data across company codes.
