Definition

By means of the column length, you determine the maximum possible input length for the values of a service catalog column. This includes a possible decimal point, the places behind the decimal point and a sign.

Example: If you want to define a column that should contain a number up to 99 999, as well as 2 places behind the decimal point and a sign, a column length of 9 (5 positions + sign + decimal point + 2 places behind the decimal point) is required.

Please note that the length of the entry field for maintaining services cannot be changed.

Example: Although the column length was specified with length 7, the entry field allows 15 characters. Nevertheless, only an entry of a maximum of 7 characters is allowed.
