Definition
An entry in this field means that several quants can be stored in a storage bin in this storage type.
Use
The storage of several different quants in a bin includes materials with different features (for example, different batches) as well as different materials altogether. Without Storage Unit Management, only one quant exists for each item.
The following conditions apply for the possible indicators for storage types in which Storage Unit Management is active:
"___" Mixed storage is not allowed
All storage units in a storage bin must contain the same
material and batch (one quant).
" A " Several Storage units with the same material per bin
Several different materials or batches of a material may occupy
a storage bin at the same time. However, the individual storage
units must contain the same material and/or batch number.
" B " Several batches per bin and storage unit
Only one material number may occupy a bin. However,
if the material requires a batch number, more than one batch
of this material may be stored in the bin. Each storage unit
may also contain more than one batch of the same material.
" C " Several batches per bin
Only one material may occupy a bin. However, if the material
requires a batch number, different batches of the same material
may occupy the bin. You are not allowed to store different
batches in a single storage unit.
" X " Mixed storage without restrictions
Several material numbers as well as different batches may exist
in both the storage bin and in individual storage units.
