Definition
A pipeline is called by using the logical pipeline ID. It shows the external view of the pipeline, is used by the Integration Engine, and cannot be changed.
Currently, SAP ships pipelines with the following logical pipeline IDs:
- SENDER
Pipeline on the sender side (of a sender local Integration Engine) that calls the central Integration Engine (the Integration Server)
- CENTRAL
Pipeline on the Integration Server that actually performs the message processing
- RECEIVER
Pipeline on the receiver side (of a receiver local Integration Engine) that calls the proxy interface
- RECEIVER_BACK
Pipeline on the receiver side that returns the acknowledgment to the Integration Server in asynchronous processing
- CENTRAL_BACK
Pipeline on the Integration Server that returns the acknowledgment to the sender in asynchronous processing
- SENDER_BACK
Pipeline on the sender side that persists the acknowledgment in the database and, if required, informs the sender application in asynchronous processing
