Documentation
Definition
Use this option if you want only the key information to be transferred when the binding is executed, but the type of the target object to be determined according to the element definition of the target expression.
This option only has an effect if the source and the target expression have different object types when the binding is executed. If the source and target object type are the same, normal assignment takes place.
Use
You can use this option when a derived object is assigned to a reference of the parent type (at a higher level in the inheritance hierarchy), but the target reference of the parent object type is to remain the same and only the key information of the derived type is to be transferred.
With ESI object references, you can use this option when assigning between object references that have a common template object. In this case as well, only the key information is transferred, so that the type of the binding target keeps its defined value.
