Definition

The account number of the balance sheet account to which the balance of the profit and loss closing accounts is to be posted.

The posting specifications for the country version define if and how this posting is to be made.

  • If the retained earnings are posted during profit and loss account closing (account selection 'P'), the balance of the P&L closing account is transferred directly to the retained earnings account.
  • If the retained earnings are posted during balance sheet account closing (account selection 'B'), the balance of the P&L closing account is posted to the account specified in the #Balance Sheet Account Closing# field. In a subsequent posting, this amount is transferred to the balance sheet account via the account specified in the #Balance Sheet Account - Opening# field.
  • This posting step is skipped if the country version does not support it.
