Definition

Key that identifies the hierarchical level from the source document.

Use

Essential to statistics updating is the assignment of an update rule to a specific hierarchical level within document processing. This information is needed to generate updating. During the update process, it determines the document levels from which information is required for the statistics.

Example

For example, the source field MCVBAP-NETWR indicates that information from the sales document item is needed for statstics updating. When you specify a source field, the system assigns an update rule to a specific document hierarchy automatically.

Dependencies

For some update types, such as formula, external program, or counter updating, it is not possible to specify a source field, since there may be more than one source field. In such cases, there is no automatic assignment of update rule to document hierarchy.

The hierarchy must then be assigned manually. You specify the lowest document hierarchy to be used in a formula or external routine.
