Definition

Identifier which controls the creation of physical inventory documents when intermediate documents for the store physical inventory are uploaded.

Use

If an intermediate document contains results of material counts for which active physical inventory items do not exist, the system can automatically create a physical inventory document and simultaneously enter the count result.

The system offers the following options for controlling whether and when physical inventory documents are created:

  • Create work item to enter the count without document reference

    You should only choose this setting if the case described above occurs only occassionally and physical inventory documents are already created before intermediate documents are uploaded.

  • Issue message only, no physical inventory document creation
  • Issue message first, and create physical inventory documents only when the intermediate document is processed a second time.

    You should choose this setting if you want to be informed about materials without document reference before the system creates the documents. This setting allows better performance than "Create work item".

  • Create physical inventory documents directly.

Example

You choose the "Create physical inventory documents directly" setting. When an intermediate document for store physical inventory for which no active document items exists is uploaded, physical inventory documents are created. At the same time, the count results are entered.

Notes

Please note that, in the methods for subsequent creation of physical inventory documents described here, the book inventory balance at the time of document creation is relevant for determining physical inventory differences.
