Documentation
Definition
Specifies the start date of the medium-term planning horizon.
The medium-term planning horizon divides the period of examination into a short-term and a medium-term area. Sequencing only dispatches and firms the planned orders in the short-term area. In the medium-term area, Sequencing displays the planned orders in the section for non-dispatched orders.
You define the medium-term planning horizon in the planning profile as a relative offset to the start of the period of examination or to the current date.
Use
You can use the medium-term planning horizon to limit the period in which Sequencing dispatches and firms planned orders. The planned orders that lie after the medium-term planning horizon can then be dispatched manually in the sequence schedule.
If you do not specify a medium-term planning horizon, Sequencing dispatches and firms the planned orders for the entire period of examination. MRP does not make any further changes to the firmed planned orders in subsequent planning runs.
Dependencies
In the visualization profile for sequencing, you can specify a different column width for the columns after the medium-term planning horizon than for the columns of the short-term planning period.
