Definition

This date specifies the start of the period for which mass simulation is executed.

Important: The simulation period must begin on the first day of the month.

The start and end of the simulation period mean the following in the mass simulation:

  • Only those contracts are simulated that are valid within a simulation period. Contracts whose move-in date is after the end of the simulation period are ignored.
  • Only those contracts are simulated that are not completely billed within the simulation period.
  • The contracts are simulated within the simulation period for the period that has not yet been billed. The simulation period (the billing period of the simulation document) can stand out from the simulation period. When updating the quantities and amounts of the simulation document to CO-PA or to the sales statistics (UIS), proration takes place. Only the portions that belong to the simulation period are updated to CO-PA or to the UIS.

Example:

  • You want to run unbilled revenue reporting for year 2001.
  • You choose the start and end of the simulation period: 01/01/2001 - 12/31/2001.
  • During the mass simulation a contract is simulated that is already billed until 06/30/2001.
  • The contract is simulated from 07/01/2001 until the next periodic meter reading on 06/30/2001. In doing so, a bill line with an amount of EUR 1000 is generated.
  • The bill line is prorated during the update on 12/31/2001. Only half the amount (EUR 500) is updated to CO-PA or to the UIS.

Choose the period for the start and end date of the simulation period. You require an estimated value for your expected total revenue for the period you choose. The mass simulation then generates simulation data in CO-PA or in the UIS. This data (along with the actual data) provides the estimated value.
