Definition

Each trip is assigned to a period (for example, a monthly period) when it is recorded and goes through accounting. This period serves as a selection criterion during further editing. The payroll subunit is used to determine the begin and end dates of the editing period.

Use

The editing period has two functions:

It serves as a recording period

• The period is stored along with the trip when a trip is initially recorded.
• If no entry is made in the period fields, the period which contains the current date for the payroll subunit specified is used.

It serves as a selection criterion

• If no entry is made in the period fields, all trips are listed.
• If a period is entered, trips which fulfill one of the following criteria are listed:
• The trip was initially recorded in the period specified but has not yet gone through accounting.
• The trip went through accounting in the period specified but has not yet been posted.
• The trip was posted in the period specified.
