Documentation
Definition
Unit of measure used for the stock of the material. The system converts all quantities entered in other units of measure (alternative units of measure) into this unit of measure.
Use
Procedure
You determine the base unit of measure, as well as the alternative units of measure with accompanying conversion factors, in the material master record.
Examples
Dependencies
Your entry here is especially important with regard to the conversion of the alternative units of measure because all data is updated in the base unit of measure. A quantity can only be accurately displayed in an alternative unit of measure, when there are enough decimal points available for your display. In order to ensure this, note the following:
- The base unit of measure is the unit that meets that highest necessary degree of accuracy.
- Conversions of alternative units of measure into base units of measure should result in simple decimals (not 1/3 = 0,333...).
Inventory Management
In Inventory Management, the base unit of measure is synonymous with the stockkeeping unit.
Service
Services have their own units of measure, for example,
- Service unit
The unit of measure on the higher level of the position. The exact specifications for the quantity of the individual services appear for each on the detailed level of the service line.
- Flat-rate
The unit of measure on the service line level for services to be performed once for which an exact quantity could not or should not be specified.
