In this selection, you define how generic materials and variants are adopted in allocation tables.

Use

You have the following options for mass selection of materials you want to adopt in an allocation table:

• Generic material (without reference to any variants)

  Generic materials only are listed for you to select from.

  Variants are not listed.

  After you adopt the generic material in an item, you can include the relevant variants via the variant matrix.

• Variants (without reference to a generic material):

  Variants only are listed for you to select from.

  Generic materials are not listed.

  After you adopt the variant in an item, it is treated as a single material, without any reference to the generic material.
