Definition

There are four different key figures categories

  • Category 1
This entry describes a group of fields that can be addressed using a period number (for example, table GLT1 contains the field group TSLVT, TSL01,...,TSL16). Several database records are combined into one "super record" using a field in the file key. This field contains the largest stored period. The number of periods in this "super record" is thus greater than in one record.
    Example: table GLT1

If a GLT1 record contains the periods 1 to 16, RPMAX has the value 016. For periods 17 to 32, RPMAX has the value 032. The Report Writer combines these records into a logical record with periods 1 to 32.

  • Category 2
This entry describes a group of fields that can be addressed via a period number (for example, table xyz contains the field group abc00, abc01, ..., abc16). In contrast to category 1, there is no key field that can be used to combine the records into a logical record.
  • Category 3
This entry only describes one value field from the table. In contrast to categories 1 and 2, there is no period block here.
  • Category 4
This entry only describes a counter. No fields from the table are added. Only one constant is added for each database record (usually constant 1).
