Procedure

Enter a value in seconds in this field if you wish to set a read timeout for this output device. The read timeout specifies the time limit for receiving a response from a partner output device.

Normally, you should leave this field empty. The SAP System then uses the default read timeout (usually five minutes). You may wish to set a longer timeout for communications with a remote device, for example. (If you specify a longer timeout, you may also have to increase the timeout set in your network software). Do not specify a shorter timeout than the default value.

The default value is set in system profile parameter rspo/tcp_timeout/read.
