Definition
You can define both real and logical servers in your SAP spool system. Logical server names can be used in place of real server names in spool configurations. Every logical server maps to a real server.
Example
Using logical servers makes it easier to change output device configurations. Assign your output devices to a logical server. This logical server in turn is mapped to a real spool server. If you want to change the assignment of your output devices, you only have to change the mapping of the logical server.
