Documentation
Definition
In the BW system, the term InfoProvider covers various metaobjects in the data basis. In terms of query definition, these objects can be uniformly understood as data providers, and the data they contain can be uniformly reported on. This includes the following objects:
- DataStore object
- InfoCube
- HybridProvider
- InfoObject, if it contains master data and/or texts
- VirtualProvider
- InfoSet
- Aggregation level
- MultiProvider
Notes:
- The term InfoProvider does not specify criteria such as how data is supplied or the level of detail or "proximity" to the source system in the data flow diagram. It simply means that the object contains data that can be evaluated in a query.
- An InfoProvider is not a new BW object, but rather a collective term for a group of existing BW objects.
