Documentation
Definition
Formatting of data from a database in list form.
The structure of a report is defined in the report definition, where you can define the following:
- the global limitation of characteristics (that is, company code, ledger, and so on) for the report (general selections)
- which characteristics (such as fields like account, period, and so on) appear in rows and columns
- which characteristics (such as value fields like costs in transaction currency and others which appear in the columns)
- which subtotals are to be depicted in the rows and columns
A report layout is defined by layout parameters. Default values for the parameters can be taken from standard layouts which can be defined independently of a report.
You can combine several reports from one library into one report group.
This is to your advantage, because when the reports consist of the same or similar data, the data selection only needs to be executed once per report group.
