Material above a (lower-level) material in a bill of materials.

Use

A lower-level material is a component of the higher-level material to which it is assigned. A number of constraints therefore exist for lower-level materials within the hierarchy.

• A lower-level material cannot be included, excluded or reset (if this is not the case for the higher-level material).
• If a material to which other materials are assigned is included, excluded or reset, the lower-level materials are also included, excluded or reset.
• The amount for the lower-level material is taken into account in the calculation of the target amount (and thus the difference).
• No materials can be assigned to a lower-level material. sein.
