Definition

Here you specify how the system should supply the summarization levels with data. The system processes all the summarization levels entered in the selection criteria.

  • With Build new levels, the system fills summarization levels which have the status "Active, without data". Levels with the status "Active" are not changed. Choose this mode if you have created new summarization levels, or if the data in the summarization levels was deleted due to realignments. The system reads the data from the segment level or from another suitable summarization level.
  • With Update the system updates summarization levels which have the status "Active". Levels which have the status "Active, without data" are not processed. Use this mode when only a small amount of new data exists. In this mode, the system only reads the line items which have been posted since you last updated the summarization levels (the so-called "delta method").
  • With Rebuild the system first deletes all the data in the summarization levels and then fills them again as in the mode "Build new levels". Use this mode if a large amount of new data has been added since you last updated the summarization levels, specifically if the number of new line items is larger than the number of segment level records.
