Definition
Characteristics in Profitability Analysis are the criteria according to which you can create and analyze your plan and actual data.
Several basic characteristics are automatically contained in every operating concern. These include the customer, product, and so on. In addition, there are a number of predefined characteristics that you can choose for your operating concern, such as the customer group, country, ABC indicator, and so on.
In addition to these, you can create your own characteristics by
- copying them from other applications (such as SD or MM) to Profitability Analysis or
- defining them manually
You define characteristics centrally, independent of any operating concern. You can then use these in your operating concern using the function "Maintain operating concern" in Customizing.
Characteristics are valid in all clients.
The name of a characteristic is 4 or 5 characters in length. Manually defined characteristics must begin with "WW".
