Definition
The RFC destination is the SAP System in which the event is created and in which the event receivers run.
Entering a remote system as the RFC destination enables the workload to be distributed across several SAP Systems. This means not only better performance but also a greater error tolerance, because if one system breaks down transactions in the remaining systems can still be processed.
