Definition
Use
- Indicator is set (
'X'
)In the application, the system copies the tax type and tax group from the basic data to the line item. Then you do not have to enter this information in the details of the line item in Customizing or in the application. Any entries you make in Customizing for the tax type and tax group are ignored by the system.
- Indicator is not set (
' '
)You have to enter the tax type and tax group in the application.
If this indicator is not set, and you also have not entered any tax types and tax groups in Customizing, then the system does not default any values for them in the application.
If this indicator is not set, but you entered tax types and tax groups in Customizing, then the system defaults these values in the application.
Dependencies
You may have line items that should not be subject to tax, although a tax type and tax group are entered in the basic data (for example, for G/L accounts that do not allow sales/purchase tax). In that case, do not set this indicator, so that the tax type and tax group are not copied.
