Use

The reference document number serves the following purposes:

  • The reference document number can be used as a search criteria when you display or change documents.
  • During periodic posting, the system enters the note to payee in this field. If the contract does not contain a note to payee, then the system enters the ID of the posting run in this field.
  • During one-time posting, this field is available to be used how you wish. You can enter the document number of the business partner here (for example, the number of a vendor invoice).

Example

The reference document number can, for example, contain the document number of the business partner.
