Use
In Funds Management, commitment items reproduce the functional structure of an organization.
Commitment items are budget items as well as posting items.
If postings are made in the components on which Funds Management rely (Financial Accounting and Materials Management), you always have to specify a commitment item if you wish Funds Management to be automatically updated.
By linking the commitment item to the basic data of other components (such as a G/L account or cost element), the system derives the commitment item automatically from the assignment during posting. A manual entry is consequently not required.
