Definition

Total dependency quantity.

Use

The following holds for quantity-based dependency planning.

  • Where reference is to statistical key figures, then (dependency type 1 or 2):

    Total dependency quantity = Fixed dependency quantity

  • Where reference is to activity types (dependency type 3):

    Total dependency quantity = Variable dependency quantity

    The dependency quantity can only be used in conjunction with a resource.

    The fixed/variable/total dependency quantity refers to the unit of the dependency quantity.

  • Where dependency refers to statistical key figures, then:

    Fixed dependency quantity per dependency quantity unit x dependency source quantity = fixed plan quantity (plan consumption)

  • Where reference is to activity types:

    Variable dependency quantity per dependency quantity unit x dependency source quantity = variable plan quantity (plan consumption).

In resource planning, the system determines the plan costs by valuating the plan quantity (plan consumption) at the resource price.
