Definition

By means of the rule type you can define rules differently for different purposes.

Rule types are primarily used in the context of:

• Service catalog determination and
• Column determination.

For a statistical evaluation, for instance, other service catalog determination rules than for Patient Accounting can be used. The rule type AB is generally used for all rules that are to be relevant for Patient Accounting.

You can, however, define another rule type in the IMG for column determination (table TN20A). For example, another rule type can be set for the material costs refund using the settings for direct patient billing (see table TN21P).
