Documentation
Definition
Describes measurable properties of an object, such as: usable space, heating area, residential space, room capacity in number of persons, number of parking spaces, share of garden in %, volume, water consumption in cubic feet, and so on. You can assign measurement types to the following objects:
- Architectural objects
- Usage objects (business entity, building, land, rental object)
- Settlement units (for service charge settlement)
You can set up measurement types to suit your individual needs in Customizing. If the measurement type measures area (square feet, square meters, square kilometers, and so on), you have to set the indicator for this in Customizing, so that it is possible to run special reports releated to areas.

Use
If you use condition groups in an RE search request and these condition groups use the calculation method Price per Measurement, then you enter the measurement type here that is used as the basis for determining the condition amount.

Use
You are required to enter a measurement type if you want to generate offered objects for pooled spaces with this usage type.
Using the measurement type of the pooled space, you can control which part of the pooled space is relevant for the RE search request type.
Example:
You have a pooled space "Shopping Mall," for which warehouse space and retail space are defined. You can assign the "Shopping Mall" usage type with the "Warehouse Space" measurement type to the "Store" RE search request type. In addition, you can assign the "Store" usage type (for stores that are defined as rental units and can be rented as a whole) to the same RE search request type. You assign the "Shopping Mall" usage type with the "Warehouse Space" measurement type to a second RE search request type called "Warehouse." The measurement type that is entered for the usage type also has to be set up in the definition of the measurement types (so that it is possible to search for this measurement type).
