Documentation

Definition

The document type classifies the accounting documents. It is stored in the document header.

Attributes that control the entry of the document, or which are themselves noted in the document, are defined for each document type. In particular, the number range assigned to the associated documents is defined on the basis of the document type.

The document type given here serves as the default value for postings to the reconciliation ledger.

Use

When activating the reconciliation ledger, the entry of document type is optional. The document type is stored in the controlling area master data record and is used as a default value for the reconciliation postings to the reconciliation ledger.
