Definition
In this field you define a default value for the distribution key of currency fields or currency field groups. You can use any distribution key for this.
If a planning object (for example, in CO-OM a combination of cost center and cost element) has not yet been planned, this default value is set for all quantity fields.
The distribution key is not changed for the distribution key.
Note: The distribution key for the new planning objects is useful when the definition of the planning layout has not been selected, the distribution key is thus not visable in the planning session.
Example
In your company, employees work in shifts, and you have created a separate distribution key for this. You should enter this distribution key as a default value, so that you do not need to keep entering it during planning to distribute the quantities.
