Definition
A classification of inspection characteristics according to their importance. For example, you can classify characteristics as critical, major, or minor.
The importance of a characteristic (or characteristic weight) and its controlling effects are defined in the Customizing application.
Use
You can specify the characteristic weight in an inspection characteristic.
You can also store a default value in Customizing for the characteristic weight in the settings at plant level. The system uses this default value if you do not specify a characteristic weight in an inspection characteristic.
