Definition

Code groups allow you to group codes with similar content or attributes.

Code groups can, for example, refer to color, surface characteristics, packaging, or usage options.

Supplementary Documentation - QGRUPHI 0001

Use

You use this field to determine which master records are selected. During the selection only the master records that fulfill the selection criteria are taken into account.

Procedure

  • If you want the system to search for and display all code groups, enter a * in the lower limit field. (Do not enter any value in the upper limit field.)
  • To display a range of code groups, enter a specific code group for the lower limit of the range, as well as a specific code group for the upper limit value.
Instead of entering a specific code group. you can perform a generic search by entering a * followed by a string, for example, *col.
  • To display a single code group, enter a specific code group in the lower limit field. (Do not enter any value in the upper limit field.)

Supplementary Documentation - QGRUPHI 0002

Use

Procedure

Enter either a single code group or a range of code groups from which you want to copy the codes.

  • To copy codes from a single code group, enter the name of the code group in the lower limit field. (Do not enter any value in the upper limit field.)
  • To copy codes from a range of code groups:
    • enter the name of the first code group in the lower limit field
    • enter the name of the last code group in the upper limit field
  • When you enter an interval of code groups, the system copies codes from all code groups that lie within the interval you entered.

Generic selection of code groups is also supported. For example, if you enter *colo, all codes from code groups beginning with COLO will be copied.

NOTE

Codes already in the selected set will not be overwritten by the copy function.
