Documentation
Definition
The report category defines the form and content of the defects data. It links a catalog profile (schematized value list) to a confirmation profile (recording form).
The defects data is recorded on the basis of report categories and stored in the form of quality notifications.
Supplementary Documentation - QFEART 0001
Procedure
If you want to record defects for an inspection lot, enter the report category.
If you want to record defects for an operation or a characteristic, the system will automatically select the report category on the basis of the work center, provided a report category was assigned to the work center in the Customizing application.
Dependencies
The significance of the report category is defined in the Customizing application.
Supplementary Documentation - QFEART 0002
Procedure
Define the report category by assigning a catalog profile and confirmation profile to it.
In the report category, you can specify where the system will retrieve the catalog profile:
- from the report category itself
- from the quality notification type
- from the material master
When you are getting ready to record defects, the system will search for a catalog profile in the following locations and sequence: material master, report category, quality notification type.
Supplementary Documentation - QFEART 0003
Procedure
You can assign the report category to one or more work centers. To do this, enter a plant and work center. You can make generic entries when specifying the work center.
Dependencies
When you record defects for an inspection operation or inspection characteristic, the system selects the report category on the basis of the work center.
Note
If a work center has not been entered for an operation in the inspection plan, the default value '*' will be used for the plant and work center when the system generates defect records automatically.
