Definition

User field:

The Routing Control Code is a characteristic of a bank. This field is used as an indicator to identify a bank. Unlike the bank number or the SWIFT code, this code can be defined by the user. This indicator is not linked uniquely with one bank. The Routing Control Codes are entered in Table BNKA.

This field can also be used to define bank chains. For each Routing Control Code, you can enter a corresponding bank, whose Routing Control Code is in turn linked to a further bank.

This indicator is used in the bank selection for payment requests. The Routing Control Codes are entered in Table TBKBC.
