Documentation
Definition
This profile parameter specifies which type of maintenance should take place for process instructions in the master recipe. You have the following selection options:
- Use of process instructions (default value)
- Use of XSteps or process instructions (only after installation of R/3 Enterprise Extension 2.0)
- Use of XSteps (only after installation of R/3 Enterprise Extension 2.0)
Use
The settings for this profile parameter influence the options available for maintaining process instructions. Buttons or tab strips are deactivated, user actions are permitted or forbidden, and so on.
If you want to use the XStep functions to maintain process instructions, set the parameter in the recipe profile to XSteps.
Pay particular attention to the following aspects:
- As soon as you create an XStep tree for a master recipe, you can only maintain process instructions using the XStep functions.
- When you are maintaining process instructions, the system performs a consistency check. If the profile parameter has the value Process Instructions, and if an XStep tree exists for the master recipe, this is an inconsistency. In this case the system issues an information message. To remove the inconsistency, change the setting for the profile parameter to XSteps or XSteps optional.
