Definition
Percentage that determines the price/wage variance calculated during posting. The price/wage variance is considered as part of the costs.
Price variances are calculated in steps of one hundred using the following formula:

Variances = Actual costs X ----------------
100 + Percentage
The formula below is used to calculate the percentage:

Example
You wish to separate 10% wage variance from the direct labor costs in cost element 410000. This means a wage of $100 contains a $10 wage variance. The variance percentage you enter is calculated as follows:

From direct labor costs of $525.25 the SAP system calculates a wage variance of:
11.1
Variance = $525.25 X ------------- = $52.52
100 + 11.11
This results in actual direct labor costs of $472.73.
