Documentation
Definition
ISO code for units of measure on which the the quantity is based.
Use
The field is optional but you should complete it for a goods movement for the material or for the material of the vendor so that the quantity can be identified exactly. A goods movement for the EAN does not need this field because the EAN determines the unit of measure. This field is also not interpreted for a goods receipt for the shipping element, as each shipping unit number (together with the vendor) is unique.
The units of measure with the corresponding ISO codes are maintained in Customizing under Check units of measure.
If you do not enter a unit of measure, the system searches for the relevant base unit of measure for the material.
Examples
KGM = Kilogram (SAP: KG)
PCE = Piece (SAP: PC)
Dependencies
The possible units of measure for a material are defined in material master maintenance.
